Abstract

Ihtibak (elliptical construction) is one of the subtle rhetorical devices known in classical Arabic expression, and its impact is clearly evident in both the Qur’an and the Prophetic Hadith. This study examines the phenomenon of ihtibak in Sunan al-Nasā’ī through two main aspects: first, identifying the instances explicitly noted by Imām al-Sindī in his commentary, and second, exploring its rhetorical purposes and interpretive implications. The research adopts a textual-analytical method, drawing on the insights of rhetoricians and hadith scholars in systematizing and explaining this phenomenon. The study concludes that ihtibak in Prophetic traditions is a powerful rhetorical style that combines brevity with precision, highlights the eloquence of the Prophetic discourse, and demonstrates the integration of rhetoric and Hadith in a unified framework that enhances understanding and meaning.
