Abstract

The study aimed to explore the impact of using digital media on the preparation of scientific research among students at the Open University, Al-Marj branch. This study employed a descriptive methodology and utilized a questionnaire administered to a sample of 121 students. The results indicated that 87.6% of the students rely on computers, while 75.3% use smartphones, with significant engagement in social media platforms such as Facebook (79.3%). This reflects a strong reliance on digital resources, including search engines (90.1%) and online library websites (76.0%). Additionally, 72.7% of the students noted that digital media shortened the time required and increased the volume of information available. The study confirmed the importance of these media in fostering innovation and enhancing the quality of scientific research, with 95% of respondents indicating that digital media contributes to improving research preparation skills. Recommendations included enhancing the use of digital tools, organizing workshops, and developing educational programs to improve research quality and promote collaboration between universities, highlighting the role of digital media as a significant factor in higher education.
