The Relationship Between Spending on The Education and Health Sectors and Economic Growth in Libya (2000-2021)

The study aimed to explore the relationship between spending on the education and health sectors and economic growth in Libya during the period (2000-2021) using the descriptive-analytical approach and data analysis through (E. Views.13) software. The results showed a co-integration relationship between spending on the education and health sectors and economic growth, with a statistically significant positive relationship between spending on education and economic growth in both the short and long terms. Additionally, a positive relationship was found between spending on health and economic growth in the short term, whereas no statistically significant relationship was observed between health spending and economic growth in the long term. The study recommended directing sustainable investments toward the education and health sectors to support them as influential factors in economic growth, increasing the education budget and enhancing its efficiency to ensure long-term positive impact, increasing health spending for short-term effects while focusing on improving service quality, and restructuring long-term health policies to ensure the sustainability of economic benefits.
