Abstract

This study aimed to identify the impact of using the balanced scorecard with its four main dimensions on evaluating the financial and non-financial performance of commercial banks listed on the Libyan Stock Exchange. To achieve the study's objectives, the researcher relied on the descriptive analytical method and used a questionnaire to survey the opinions of the study population, represented by managers, department heads, division heads, unit heads, and accounting specialists in the main Al-Jumhuriya Bank and the main Al-Sahari Bank. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed, and 239 questionnaires were valid for analysis. The results of the study showed that there is an impact of using the balanced scorecard on performance evaluation. It also showed that there is an impact of the four main dimensions of the balanced scorecard (financial dimension, customer dimension, internal operations dimension, and learning and growth dimension) on evaluating financial and non-financial performance. The researcher attributes this to the fact that the balanced scorecard is one of the most important modern tools and methods used to evaluate the financial and non-financial performance of commercial banks. The study recommended training employees in commercial banks and holding training courses for them.
