Abstract

This research aims to examine the educational thought of Ibn Miskawayh as one of the most prominent moral philosophers in Islamic thought, highlighting the main features of his educational vision and its philosophical and ethical foundations. The study analyzes the conceptual framework and intellectual context in which Ibn Miskawayh’s thought emerged, and explores the moral, psychological, and rational foundations of his educational project. It also discusses the objectives of education, its methods and means, with particular emphasis on gradual training, habituation, moral exemplarity, and the role of reason in disciplining the human soul. The research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, drawing on classical and contemporary sources. It concludes that Ibn Miskawayh’s educational thought represents an integrated moral project that remains relevant to contemporary education, especially in the field of moral education and value formation amid modern ethical challenges.
